Why Much Obliged
Much obliged means thank you.
That’s the whole idea.
“We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams.”
— Arthur O’Shaughnessy, Ode
People make the things worth keeping.
Writing. Podcasts. Videos. Jokes. Useful work. Good ideas. Strange little corners of the internet.
None of it appears by magic. Somebody made it. They did the work.
Sometimes it’s the thing itself. Sometimes it’s the way somebody sees the world. A voice you want to hear again. A craft you want to see continue. An idea you don’t want to disappear.
You may never meet them. It doesn’t matter. They made something worth keeping, worth having, worth reading, worth watching, worth listening to.
And sometimes you want to put something real behind the thank you.
That’s what Much Obliged is for.

Gratitude shouldn’t have a middleman taking a percentage. So we don’t.
