Interim launch version 2026-10-21.1. Effective date: October 21, 2026.
1. Who owns what
- Creators own their content: their page text, Membership descriptions, private instructions, their offers, their Creative Work (its images, words and terms), and anything they sell, license or perform. Much Obliged claims no ownership of any of it.
- Much Obliged owns the service: the software, design, brand, name and marks.
- The license Creators give Much Obliged is limited: to host, store, copy, format, display, transmit, back up and distribute a Creator's content through their page and the service, and to sublicense those rights to the infrastructure providers that run the service, for operating, securing and improving the service and for promoting it by showing the Creator's public page or excerpts of it as it appears on Much Obliged. The license ends when the content is removed or the account is closed, except for backups and records we must keep. Private Membership instructions are never used for promotion. A Creator may ask us to stop using their public page in promotion at support@muchobliged.co. (Full text: Terms of Service section 13.) For a Creative Work, this is how Much Obliged keeps a private web-size copy of an image and shows a copy made from it, with the Creator's watermark drawn in if they choose one.
2. Seller representations
A Seller who creates a Payment Request represents that they own the item or have the right to sell it, or the right and ability to perform the service; that it is accurately described; that it is not prohibited; that the Payment Request is a genuine sale of what it describes; and, for physical items, that they have checked for safety recalls. Much Obliged records these attestations. Much Obliged does not verify them.
A Creator who offers a license for a Creative Work states, first, that they have the rights necessary to offer the licenses they publish for it, and the work's page tells people so. Much Obliged records when they said it. A license is between the Creator and the person who buys it, on the Creator's terms; Much Obliged is not a party to it.
2A. What the Work Record is and is not
A Creative Work's Work Record documents the image files Much Obliged received for the work: a fingerprint of the exact file received, a fingerprint of the copy Much Obliged kept, and when Much Obliged recorded it. It shows when Much Obliged received and recorded an image, not when the work was made. It does not establish copyright ownership, authorship or originality, and it does not replace copyright registration. Much Obliged does not verify who owns, made or first published any work. Any history a Creator adds is their own statement.
3. Reporting infringement, abuse or anything else
Every Creator page, offer and Creative Work page, Payment Request page and confirmation page has a Report this page link. Choose a category (fraud or a scam; something prohibited or unsafe; counterfeit or someone else's work; harassment or abuse; something else), tell us briefly what is wrong, and leave an email if you would like a reply. You can also write to support@muchobliged.co.
Much Obliged stores your report, a snapshot of the public fields of the page as it was when you reported it, and your email if you gave one. Reports are never shown to the Creator, and your identity is never revealed to them.
4. What happens to a report
Much Obliged reviews reports. A report is an allegation; it does not by itself remove content, hold an account, cancel a subscription, or move any money. After review, Much Obliged may take no action, contact the Creator, unpublish content, withdraw an unpaid Payment Request, place the account on hold, or terminate it, under the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy. Much Obliged does not promise a response time or a particular outcome. Much Obliged does not operate a formal appeals system; a Creator may write to support@muchobliged.co to request a review, which Much Obliged conducts case by case under the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Copyright notices
Much Obliged responds to notices of claimed copyright infringement. To send one, write to legal@muchobliged.co with: the copyrighted work you say is infringed; the Much Obliged page (for example a Creative Work or an offer) or Payment Request that contains the material; your contact details; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. If we remove material in response to a notice, we will tell the Creator, who may send a counter-notice with equivalent details and a consent to jurisdiction; we may restore the material after a counter-notice unless the claimant tells us they have filed a court action. Repeated infringement leads to termination.
Much Obliged has not registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office, and this section does not establish one.
6. Trademark, publicity and other claims
For claims that a page or item infringes a trademark, uses a person's name or likeness without permission, or otherwise violates rights, use the Report link or support@muchobliged.co and describe the rights and the material. Much Obliged acts on specific, substantiated notices.
7. Much Obliged's own statements
Nothing on a Creator's page is a statement by Much Obliged. Much Obliged does not endorse, verify or vouch for any Creator, Seller, item, service or Membership.
