It counts toward the agreed total. This item is reserved for you.
You made the deal somewhere else. Bring it with you.
Facebook Marketplace. Instagram. Text. Email. In person.
Much Obliged doesn't need to be where you find the buyer.
You already did that part.
Start with the listing you already have. Bring the photos along. Turn it into one Private Sale for one buyer.
One buyer. One agreed transaction.
Not a listing. Not a storefront. One Private Sale for one buyer.
Let them pay by card. Or pay you directly.
Buyer reviews the sale. Buyer confirms the terms.

By card: they pay through Stripe, straight into your connected Stripe account. Much Obliged doesn't provide financing or extend credit.
Directly: they pay you, the way you agreed, and you record it when it arrives. It shows as Recorded by you. Much Obliged doesn't process, hold or check it.
Paid in full. Or take a deposit.
Sometimes that's all you need.
$900 agreed. $900 due now.
Some deals need a commitment first.
$900 agreed. $150 now. $750 later.
No percentage deposits. No installment maze. No mystery math.
One deposit. One exact balance.
The dollars are in the details.
Nothing gets lost.
Paid is one thing. Handed over is another.
Much Obliged keeps them apart, so you always know which one happened.
Pickup & seller delivery
Once it's paid in full, you get a six-digit PIN. You hold it. When the buyer has the item, they enter it on their page, and the handoff is recorded, with the time.
Shipping
U.S. only, and no PIN. You buy the postage and ship it. Add the tracking, mark it shipped, then delivered. Much Obliged records what you report. It isn't the carrier.
Your buyer stays your buyer.
No Much Obliged account. No app. Nothing to learn.

Creative Work
One page for each piece of your work.
Your work goes out into the world. Give people a way to follow it back to you.
Upload your artwork, tell its story, and choose how people can buy it or ask about it. Every piece gets its own page and a link you can share.
Say someone discovers your work on Pinterest.
They love the image. They follow the link you've added to the Pin. Now they're looking at a page dedicated to that very piece, with everything you've made available.

Much Obliged keeps a dated Work Record with digital fingerprints of the original image you uploaded and the version we stored. You can download the record, and optionally add a watermark to the image people see.
The Work Record documents what we received and when. It doesn't establish copyright ownership or authorship.

Questions
What is a Private Sale?
One agreed sale with one buyer, on one private link.
You found the buyer and worked out the deal somewhere else. The Private Sale is how they confirm it and pay you, and how you keep the record. It's not a marketplace and not a storefront: Much Obliged doesn't find buyers.
Does my buyer need an account?
No. They open the link, review the sale, confirm the terms and pay.
Can my buyer pay by card?
Yes. They pay through Stripe, into your connected Stripe account, and the payment shows as Confirmed by Stripe.
Much Obliged doesn't provide financing or extend credit.
Can my buyer pay me directly?
Yes. Choose “They pay me directly” and they can pay you with cash, Zelle, Venmo, a check or however you agreed. They confirm the deal on the link, and you record the payment when it arrives.
What does “Recorded by you” mean?
It marks a payment you recorded yourself. Much Obliged didn't process it and doesn't check it, and the buyer's page says so too. Card payments say Confirmed by Stripe instead.
Can I take a deposit?
Yes: one fixed-dollar deposit now, and the exact balance later, on the same link.
A fixed amount, not a percentage, and no installments. It's a real payment, not a hold, and Much Obliged doesn't keep it in escrow.
How do I know where a sale stands?
Each sale shows what was agreed, when the buyer confirmed, what's been paid, what's still due and what happens next: to hand over, to ship, shipped, done.
How does the handoff PIN work?
For pickup or your own delivery, a six-digit PIN appears for you once the sale is paid in full. You hold it.
When the buyer has the item, they enter the PIN on their page, and the handoff is recorded with the time.
Is there a PIN for shipping?
No. A shipped sale is tracked instead: you add the tracking number, mark it shipped, then mark it delivered.
Where can I ship?
Within the U.S.
Does Much Obliged buy shipping labels?
No. You buy the postage and ship it yourself. Much Obliged records what you report; it doesn't quote rates or check with the carrier.
Private Sales or Counter?
Private Sales is for a deal you've worked out: one buyer, one agreed transaction. Counter is for buying now: they're there, and the sale is now.
Can I use Private Sales for a service?
Services have their own place: Services, for work you do once, a set number of sessions, or ongoing.
Something you make for one buyer is a commission, and that is a Private Sale.
I sell my own artwork. Can each piece have its own page?
Yes, with Creative Work: one page for each piece, with every way someone can get it from you, like a print, the original, a commission or a license on your terms.
Buying is paid by card, straight to you. A request is a message to you: nothing is charged and nothing is granted until you both agree, and it can become a Private Sale.
Is there a limit on a Private Sale?
Yes. A Private Sale can be up to $10,000.
What about refunds and disputes?
Card refunds are made in your Stripe Dashboard, and the sale updates when Stripe confirms it. Money you returned another way, you record as a return. Card disputes are answered in Stripe; your sale record has the details.
What does Much Obliged charge?
$8 a month. 0% Much Obliged platform fee.
Standard Stripe processing fees apply to card payments.
